
Amazon’s Project Kuiper Launches Designed-In-Redmond Satellites in Space
On June 23rd, Amazon’s Project Kuiper launched 27 of its broadband satellites into orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, doubling its number currently in space.
Project Kuiper is headquartered in Redmond, WA and has its R&D facilities in Redmond. The satellite manufacturing facility is located close by in Kirkland. More than 2,000 people at Amazon work on Project Kuiper.
These first 54 satellites part of a plan to deliver more than 3,000 into orbit in order to deliver fast and reliable internet service to people around the world in need.
