Innovation Triangle Attracts Biotech Companies
The Puget Sound region and the Eastside in particular are home to a significant and growing Biotechnology hub of companies. As of April, 2023, the Innovation Triangle is home to more than 120 biotech companies with Bellevue having 69 life science and Redmond having 53 with additional investment in the life science cluster planned.
In Bellevue, Alexandria Real Estate Equities is planning on developing a 1.2 million square foot mixed-use project called Alexandria Center for Science and Technology. This 8.3 acre development will include three life sciences lab and office buildings totaling nearly 700,000 SF of space, as well as two multi-family buildings.
In Redmond, Bio-Rad is one of the largest BioTech employers in the Seattle region, and recent additions to the cluster include Just-Evotec Biologics which designs and applies innovative technologies to expand global access to biotherapeutics. Inventprise continues to innovate with its platform technology to develop vaccines against infections diseases with initial focus on invasive pneumococcal disease.
