As reported by GeekWire, Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, announced on February 19th on LinkedIn the development of a new quantum processor that could potentially “create a truly meaningful quantum computer not in decades, as some have predicted, but in years.”
Headquartered in Redmond, WA, the company has been working on creating for over 19 years to develop “an entirely new state of matter, unlocked by a new class of materials, topoconductors, that enable a fundamental leap in computing,” Nadella writes.
This first quantum processing unit is called Majorana 1. Click here to read more about this new innovation.
